Practitioner Recruitment for Rural Oregon

The Oregon Primary Care Association Recruitment and Retention program coordinates recruitment efforts with the NW Regional Primary Care Association, offers assistance to our health center members, and facilitates placement of primary care providers seeking to work with underserved populations throughout Oregon.

Federal Loan Repayment Programs

The Bureau of Primary Health Care/National Health Service Corps has a federal loan repayment program for approved sites located in federally designated Health Professional Shortage Areas. The program is administered by the Scholarship and Loan Repayments Division in the Bureau of Primary Health Care. Clinicians may receive $25,000 for loan repayment for each of two years plus $35,000/year for the third and 4th year of a commitment. The National Rural Recruitment and Retention Network (3Rnet) is an association of state-based, non-profit recruitment programs in 48 states. Each participating state has its own section at the 3Rnet web site and the recruitment services offered vary by state. The Office of Rural Health is Oregon's member.
