Pacific University Announces Masters of Healthcare
Administration Program
Hillsboro Campus will host first class of 15 this fall in
the new two-year program
(FOREST GROVE,
OR) The Masters of Healthcare Administration Program (MHA) will begin classes
in the fall of 2008. The two-year
program is one of very few unique programs offered in the Pacific Northwest that
is geared toward leadership and ethics, while addressing the increasingly
diverse demands of multi-faceted healthcare communities. “What is needed in
healthcare today is the power to lead an organization in a complex
environment,” says Sara Hopkins-Powell Executive Dean and Vice-Provost of the
College of Health Professions. “Pacific’s program is focused on the skills and
knowledge to lead toward excellence and improve the health of our
communities.”
The
program will be housed at the Health Professions Campus in Hillsboro with six
other graduate and professional health care programs offered by Pacific. MHA faculty will consist of current leaders
and administrators in the healthcare organization who will be paired with
Pacific faculty to provide students with “real-world” experience. “Leading and
managing today in healthcare requires people who can work with a diverse
workforce, think strategically and look at the needs of the entire community,”
says Richard V. Stenson, President and CEO, Tuality Healthcare and Tuality
Health Alliance. “The MHA program at Pacific, with its variety of healthcare
programs, provides a unique opportunity for the next generation of leaders.”
Pacific
will host an Open House on Tuesday, June 17 at 5:30pm at the Health Professions
Campus in Hillsboro. For complete
